Free Year 3 dictionary practice — search headwords and definitions, then correct a spelling. No account needed.
Use a meaning clue to identify the intended word. Search a small alphabetised dictionary by likely first letters, choose the matching headword and read its definition, then type the corrected spelling. The default practice mode is untimed, so the learner can think before choosing. Correct answers build a gentle celebration; mistakes receive corrective feedback and return later rather than causing a penalty spiral.
Learning objective: Use a supplied dictionary search and meaning clue to check and correct selected Years 3–4 spellings.

This game is designed as short independent practice after an idea has been introduced. It does not replace direct teaching, mathematical or scientific discussion, or an adult checking whether the learner can explain the idea away from the screen.
Repeat the process in a full child-friendly dictionary and discuss alternative first letters when a search fails. This game uses a small supplied dictionary and does not assess independent use of a full dictionary. Stop while attention is still good. A short accurate return tomorrow is more useful than extending a tired session today.
Does it need an account? No. The game runs in the browser and asks for no name, email address, school or location.
Is it timed? Practice is untimed. Where a sprint exists it is optional. Times Tables Sprint also includes MTC-style independent practice, not an expected-standard judgement.
Can it be used on a phone? Yes. Buttons support touch and keyboard use; sorting always has a tap alternative to dragging.
