Free Year 5 Maths practice — read and compare supplied tables and use simple timetables. No account needed.
Read supplied table entries, compare rows, calculate selected totals and differences, and use arrival/departure timetables. The default practice mode is untimed, so the learner can think before choosing. Correct answers build a gentle celebration; mistakes receive corrective feedback and return later rather than causing a penalty spiral.
Learning objective: Read and calculate from supplied tables and timetables. Bar graphs, distance charts, independent table completion and chart construction are not assessed.
Curriculum anchor: England Year 5 mathematics: complete, read and interpret information in tables, including timetables.
This game is designed as short independent practice after an idea has been introduced. It does not replace direct teaching, mathematical or scientific discussion, or an adult checking whether the learner can explain the idea away from the screen.
Ask the learner to identify the row, column and operation before choosing an answer. Stop while attention is still good. A short accurate return tomorrow is more useful than extending a tired session today.
Does it need an account? No. The game runs in the browser and asks for no name, email address, school or location.
Is it timed? Practice is untimed. Where a sprint exists it is optional. Times Tables Sprint also includes MTC-style independent practice, not an expected-standard judgement.
Can it be used on a phone? Yes. Buttons support touch and keyboard use; sorting always has a tap alternative to dragging.
