Free Years 5–6 Science practice — plan variables, predict, record results and evaluate evidence. No account needed.
Identify variables, make predictions, record supplied results and evaluate evidence in upper-KS2 enquiries. The default practice mode is untimed, so the learner can think before choosing. Correct answers build a gentle celebration; mistakes receive corrective feedback and return later rather than causing a penalty spiral.
Learning objective: Plan and interpret a bounded enquiry using variables, units, repeats, anomalies and cautious conclusions.
Curriculum anchor: England upper KS2 working scientifically: plan enquiries, control variables, record data, report findings and evaluate trust in results.
This game is designed as short independent practice after an idea has been introduced. It does not replace direct teaching, mathematical or scientific discussion, or an adult checking whether the learner can explain the idea away from the screen.
Ask what changed, what was measured, what stayed controlled and which exact result supports the conclusion. Stop while attention is still good. A short accurate return tomorrow is more useful than extending a tired session today.
Does it need an account? No. The game runs in the browser and asks for no name, email address, school or location.
Is it timed? Practice is untimed. Where a sprint exists it is optional. Times Tables Sprint also includes MTC-style independent practice, not an expected-standard judgement.
Can it be used on a phone? Yes. Buttons support touch and keyboard use; sorting always has a tap alternative to dragging.
