Free Year 6 English practice — review vocabulary, grammar, tense, voice and selected punctuation. No account needed.
Review vocabulary relationships, grammatical roles, agreement, tense, voice and selected punctuation. The default practice mode is untimed, so the learner can think before choosing. Correct answers build a gentle celebration; mistakes receive corrective feedback and return later rather than causing a penalty spiral.
Learning objective: Apply selected Years 5–6 grammar, vocabulary and punctuation knowledge to supplied sentences.
Curriculum anchor: England Years 5–6 writing and grammar: vocabulary and grammar choices, tense consistency, subject–verb agreement, active and passive voice, and statutory punctuation terminology.
This game is designed as short independent practice after an idea has been introduced. It does not replace direct teaching, mathematical or scientific discussion, or an adult checking whether the learner can explain the idea away from the screen.
Use one mode at a time, then ask the learner to explain the grammatical evidence for each answer. Stop while attention is still good. A short accurate return tomorrow is more useful than extending a tired session today.
Does it need an account? No. The game runs in the browser and asks for no name, email address, school or location.
Is it timed? Practice is untimed. Where a sprint exists it is optional. Times Tables Sprint also includes MTC-style independent practice, not an expected-standard judgement.
Can it be used on a phone? Yes. Buttons support touch and keyboard use; sorting always has a tap alternative to dragging.
