Living Systems Lab

Free Year 7 Science practice — explore inheritance, cells, microscopy, ecosystems and adaptation. No account needed.

About Living Systems Lab

Explore inheritance and variation, cell structures and organisation, microscopy, ecosystem relationships and adaptation. The default practice mode is untimed, so the learner can think before choosing. Correct answers build a gentle celebration; mistakes receive corrective feedback and return later rather than causing a penalty spiral.

Curriculum purpose

Learning objective: Identify and explain selected genetic, cellular, microscopy and ecosystem relationships from supplied evidence.

Curriculum anchor: England KS3 Science: cells and organisation, inheritance and variation, relationships in ecosystems, classification, adaptation and the use of light microscopes.

This game is designed as short independent practice after an idea has been introduced. It does not replace direct teaching, mathematical or scientific discussion, or an adult checking whether the learner can explain the idea away from the screen.

For parents and carers

Ask the learner to name the evidence, distinguish inherited from environmental effects and keep ecosystem conclusions proportional to the data. Stop while attention is still good. A short accurate return tomorrow is more useful than extending a tired session today.
