Probability Lab

Free Year 7 Maths practice — calculate probabilities, use the probability scale, judge fairness and find complements. No account needed.

About Probability Lab

Calculate simple and experimental probabilities, use probability scales, judge fairness and find complements. The default practice mode is untimed, so the learner can think before choosing. Correct answers build a gentle celebration; mistakes receive corrective feedback and return later rather than causing a penalty spiral.

Curriculum purpose

Learning objective: Calculate supplied simple and experimental probabilities, use probability scales, judge fairness and find complements.

Curriculum anchor: England KS3 mathematics: record, describe and analyse frequency of outcomes of probability experiments and understand that probabilities of all possible outcomes sum to 1.

This game is designed as short independent practice after an idea has been introduced. It does not replace direct teaching, mathematical or scientific discussion, or an adult checking whether the learner can explain the idea away from the screen.

For parents and carers

Ask the learner to list equally likely outcomes, state the denominator and check that a probability lies between 0 and 1. Stop while attention is still good. A short accurate return tomorrow is more useful than extending a tired session today.
