Free Year 8 Maths practice — find missing terms, use Fibonacci-type rules and generate terms from formulae. No account needed.
Find missing terms, continue Fibonacci-type sequences and generate selected terms from supplied position formulae. The default practice mode is untimed, so the learner can think before choosing. Correct answers build a gentle celebration; mistakes receive corrective feedback and return later rather than causing a penalty spiral.
Learning objective: Identify bounded term-to-term rules, apply the add-the-previous-two recurrence and substitute positions into supplied formulae.
Curriculum anchor: England KS3 Mathematics: generate terms from a term-to-term or position-to-term rule, including arithmetic, geometric and Fibonacci-type sequences.
This game is designed as short independent practice after an idea has been introduced. It does not replace direct teaching, mathematical or scientific discussion, or an adult checking whether the learner can explain the idea away from the screen.
Ask the learner to state whether the rule uses the previous term, the previous two terms or the position before calculating. Stop while attention is still good. A short accurate return tomorrow is more useful than extending a tired session today.
Does it need an account? No. The game runs in the browser and asks for no name, email address, school or location.
Is it timed? Practice is untimed. Where a sprint exists it is optional. Times Tables Sprint also includes MTC-style independent practice, not an expected-standard judgement.
Can it be used on a phone? Yes. Buttons support touch and keyboard use; sorting always has a tap alternative to dragging.
