Free Year 9 Science practice — Newton’s laws, orbits, work and elastic energy. No account needed.
Apply Newton’s laws, explain circular orbits, distinguish mass and weight, and calculate work or elastic energy. The default practice mode is untimed, so the learner can think before choosing. Correct answers build a gentle celebration; mistakes receive corrective feedback and return later rather than causing a penalty spiral.
Learning objective: Use resultant force and energy equations with explicit conditions, units and physical interpretations.
Curriculum anchor: England KS3 Science: forces and motion, gravity, orbits, work done, Hooke’s law and energy in stretched springs.
This game is designed as short independent practice after an idea has been introduced. It does not replace direct teaching, mathematical or scientific discussion, or an adult checking whether the learner can explain the idea away from the screen.
Ask the learner to name the object, force direction and equation before substituting numbers with units. Stop while attention is still good. A short accurate return tomorrow is more useful than extending a tired session today.
Does it need an account? No. The game runs in the browser and asks for no name, email address, school or location.
Is it timed? Practice is untimed. Where a sprint exists it is optional. Times Tables Sprint also includes MTC-style independent practice, not an expected-standard judgement.
Can it be used on a phone? Yes. Buttons support touch and keyboard use; sorting always has a tap alternative to dragging.
