Free Year 9 Maths practice — calculate sector areas, angles and radii. No account needed.
Use fractions of a full circle to find selected sector areas, central angles and radii. The default practice mode is untimed, so the learner can think before choosing. Correct answers build a gentle celebration; mistakes receive corrective feedback and return later rather than causing a penalty spiral.
Learning objective: Connect a central angle with the same fraction of 360 degrees and of the full circle area.
Curriculum anchor: England KS3 Mathematics: derive and apply formulae; calculate areas of circles and sectors.
This game is designed as short independent practice after an idea has been introduced. It does not replace direct teaching, mathematical or scientific discussion, or an adult checking whether the learner can explain the idea away from the screen.
Ask for the sector fraction first, then check the radius rather than diameter is squared and keep π exact where requested. Stop while attention is still good. A short accurate return tomorrow is more useful than extending a tired session today.
Does it need an account? No. The game runs in the browser and asks for no name, email address, school or location.
Is it timed? Practice is untimed. Where a sprint exists it is optional. Times Tables Sprint also includes MTC-style independent practice, not an expected-standard judgement.
Can it be used on a phone? Yes. Buttons support touch and keyboard use; sorting always has a tap alternative to dragging.
