Money Sprint

Free money game for Years 1 to 3 — coin totals, adding amounts and giving change, matched to the national curriculum. No account needed.

About Money Sprint

Practise coin totals, adding amounts and calculating change with UK pounds and pence. The default practice mode is untimed, so the learner can think before choosing. Correct answers build a gentle celebration; mistakes receive corrective feedback and return later rather than causing a penalty spiral.

Curriculum purpose

Learning objective: Recognise UK money, combine amounts and calculate change in practical contexts.

Curriculum anchor: England mathematics programmes of study: measurement and money in Key Stage 1 and lower Key Stage 2.

This game is designed as short independent practice after an idea has been introduced. It does not replace direct teaching, mathematical or scientific discussion, or an adult checking whether the learner can explain the idea away from the screen.

For parents and carers

Use real or pretend coins alongside the screen and ask the learner to make the same total in another way. Stop while attention is still good. A short accurate return tomorrow is more useful than extending a tired session today.
