Free time game for Years 2–3 — put durations in order. Compare seconds, minutes and hours. No account needed.
Compare durations and order them from shortest to longest or longest to shortest. Same-unit play suits Year 2; mixed units extend into Year 3. The default practice mode is untimed, so the learner can think before choosing. Correct answers build a gentle celebration; mistakes receive corrective feedback and return later rather than causing a penalty spiral.
Learning objective: Compare and sequence supplied durations. This supports comparing event durations but does not measure real events or calculate elapsed clock time.
Curriculum anchor: England mathematics, Year 2 and Year 3 measurement: compare and sequence time intervals and compare event durations.
This game is designed as short independent practice after an idea has been introduced. It does not replace direct teaching, mathematical or scientific discussion, or an adult checking whether the learner can explain the idea away from the screen.
After ordering the cards, time two real activities together and compare their durations. Stop while attention is still good. A short accurate return tomorrow is more useful than extending a tired session today.
Does it need an account? No. The game runs in the browser and asks for no name, email address, school or location.
Is it timed? Practice is untimed. Where a sprint exists it is optional. Times Tables Sprint also includes MTC-style independent practice, not an expected-standard judgement.
Can it be used on a phone? Yes. Buttons support touch and keyboard use; sorting always has a tap alternative to dragging.
