Times tables worksheet
Build and explain facts with Ellis. Show a method you can explain.

1 · Build from a known fact
You know 5 × 7 = 35. Use it to work out 6 × 7. Show how you found the answer.
2 · Remove a whole group
Use 10 × 6 = 60 to work out 9 × 6. What do you subtract, and why?
3 · Split the groups
Use 10 × 4 and 2 × 4 to work out 12 × 4. Write both parts before adding.
Connect multiplication and division
4 · Make equal groups
Work out 56 ÷ 8. How many groups of 8 can you make from 56? You know 8 × 7 = 56. Explain how you know.
5 · Pencils for art club
Ellis puts 6 pencils in each of 7 trays for art club. How many pencils does Ellis need? Split the 7 trays into parts. Then use division to check how many trays there are.
