Free times-tables practice
Choose one table, mix the facts expected across Years 2 to 4 in England, or practise the shape of the Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check (MTC). Ordinary practice is untimed: answer from memory, read the correction when a fact is missed, then retrieve the same fact again later in the session.
The separate MTC-style area offers the same 25-question format with or without the six-second timer. It is for familiarisation, not a pass-or-fail judgement. Rapid recall is useful, but it sits alongside understanding multiplication, division, arrays and problem solving.

Which tables should children know?
The National Curriculum in England builds multiplication recall in stages. A child can choose an earlier set without it being labelled easier or inferior.

A useful practice sequence
- Retrieve: enter the answer rather than choosing it from a list.
- Check: read the full equation after every answer.
- Correct: when an answer is wrong, use the short strategy prompt.
- Retrieve again: the missed fact returns after two other questions.
- Return later: a short session on another day is more useful than one long question marathon.
The retry spacing and 24-presentation limit are practical design choices, not claims that one exact interval is best for every learner.
Correction strategies
Use a relationship the child can explain rather than a trick that works only for a few facts.

About MTC-style familiarisation
The statutory Year 4 check uses 3 practice questions followed by 25 multiplication questions. Children normally have 6 seconds to answer and there is a 3-second pause between questions. A Next button between questions can be enabled as an access arrangement without extending the 6-second answer period.

No. The statutory Multiplication Tables Check has no published pass mark. This tool shows how one practice session went and never labels a child as passing or failing.
Are answers or scores saved?
No. Questions, answers and results stay in the browser only for the current session and disappear when the page is refreshed or closed.
